I too am having problems with this controller and finding device drivers for it (Vista x64 Ultimate). I read somewhare that this modem was using the Intel 536EP Modem chip - but unfortunately they supply drivers for all MS OS's except Vista. I installed the XP x64 drivers and they appeared to work and I can use the fax/answering machine software with these drivers. Unfortunately on closing Vista it spontaneously restarts every single time - indicating a conflict with the driver. Is there any hope of getting this modem working properly?? @ Hamid.M:'PCI simple communications controller' is usually a (dial-up) modem, and is a PCI card (not a motherboard component.)Two options:1- if you do need to use it for anything, find the manufacturer's info (or, at least a name and model#), and Google that. You'll usually find the drivers fairly quickly this way.2- if you have no use for a dial-up modem, just take it out of the system. Problem solved.(just make sure that you shut down, and remove the power cord, before you do this.)HTH,ChrisIf this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the 'Mark as Answer' or 'Helpful' button at the top of this message.

As I wrote above.if the auto install method doesn't work, you have to manually install the driver. Here is how you manually install the driver.Go to the device manager and click on the PCI simple communications controller needing the driver.Click on the driver tab. Click on Update Driver.Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file. That folder will be located in C:SWSetupsp34743.Make sure the Include Subfolders box is checked and the driver should install. Then restart the PC.
